All Grown Up!

Just BLINK and look what happens!

We spent the early part of the weekend with Miss Brittannie at her new LUXURY APARTMENT. I wasn't much help, but everyone else got Britt into her new digs - pictures up and everything. Her friend, Liz, was a most amazing helper. She had strength and endurance that is rarely found off a sports field. Everyone should be so lucky to have such a fabulous friend. Manny provided the laser level to tweak the pictures, dad lifted, packed, and lifted some more. And for about the fifth time - reassembled the futon! A job he said he would never do again (after the first time).

Because we were so late getting to dinner, dad and I stayed the night (on that pesky futon - quite comfortable, I might add) and actually slept in! Britt didn't seem to mind our sudden change of plans, but I am sure she is running from room to room dancing tonight!

Manny was most kind to offer us amazing pillows and coffee for the morning! Delicious! We even had the added pleasure of meeting Manny's parents and sister before coming home. What a nice treat - I can see why Brittannie chooses to spend a lot of time in their home!

I pray that God watches over everything you do in your new home, Britt, and that He keeps you safe!

Graduation, visits, and knitting!

Heather, Matt, Hannah girl, and Mason buddy were here for two weeks, and it was wonderful to have them. Heather and I were both itching to do some fiber arts... loose definition...I finally talked her into doing a chemo cap! Here is her first one, child size! She did a great job, and I thank her for it - since the recipient can't! I frogged a really wide scarf in favor of a skinny one... did this one on chunky needles, so I guess you could say this one was not a cheating scarf!
The best news... Brittannie is now an OSU alum! She had pre-commencement on Saturday, and she was an Award of Merit winner! Here she is with the poster that was on display throughout the ceremony! Britt was one of 205 who graduated from the School of Allied Medical Professions, and only nine were chosen for this award!!!
Brittannie and her dear friend, Laura, will be living off campus together while they both pursue their masters in Occupational Therapy. Britt will continue to work in the hospitals as a registered respiratory therapist - - because of the responsibility, I feel like that should have been capitalized!

Go Bucks!
Good luck in the upcoming future... 10 days until they start dissecting cadavors for anatomy class!
