Oh, summer!!!! The time to kick back and relax. To sit in the sun and absorb all the energy that will be required during the school year! Isn't it great? We have had some humid days, too yucky for even me to venture out. But Sunday and Monday were glorious! The deck was calling my name.
I wanted to use my circular needles as circular needles instead of just using them for flat panels like scarves. Bit more tricky, but I thought I was ready! The downside of all this fun is that one has to decrease using double pointed needles... blimey, learning two new techniques with one project... still game!

This is the "mock cabled" hat on the circular needles, right before changing to the double pointed ones.

Here, I am off the circulars and onto 4 double pointed needles, the fifth one is the working needle that replaces the freed one as you go - -confusing but not so bad!

I have decreased enough to spread the stitches across three needles at this point... still decreasing!

And...
The hat!!!
(Do I hear a drum roll?)
View from the top of my head!

This is what the top closure looks like - - seems like a successful needle adventure...

Now for socks!

FIVE needles at once? Holy cow! You need to learn to crochet: 1 needle all the time!
