Five Weeks Till Summer!!!

No, we are not going here for the summer! But, with the weather being rainy and a bit cold, thought I would throw some motivation up here.


I have been a knitting freak the past couple of months, throwing it down!!! But, I must go on a week hiatus from my fiber play. I cut my left thumb on glass last night and had to get two stitches. I don't know how long it will hurt, but needles in my fingers (knitting and otherwise) are not sounding fun. I get my stitches out next Tuesday - - but if I do get knitting before then, the titles of my projects will be dedicated to Matt who kindly let me squeeze the life out of his fingers while the doctor was fixing mine. Memories for Steven? What nice men I have!!!

Thank you, Matt, for the time you took to take me, wait, and bring me home even though 4 am comes very quickly. YOU are a gem more priceless than gold!

More Felted Stuff!

Britt and Heather got little clutches (in that order) for Easter. What I would like to know is... would Ashley like one??? If so, what color (s) and which shape. Or, go to your email and check out these bags... have the patterns for them! Let me know what you think!

Knitting Frenzie with time out for Grandbabies!

This bag started out a bit "off." But, after sleeping on it, not literally, I found a solution! Here is the bag that looked like a skirt before melting! It turned out better than the images I had in my head while I was knitting. So, I guess that is a good thing!
The kids are funny! Mason uses his upper body as a braking and propulsion system. He has tried to get up in the middle of the floor - -very successful if one pulls his butt backward to offset the center of gravity! He does not like landing on his bum (Hannah word) when he is wearing a wet diaper! But then again, who would???

I am in the process of knitting a couple of wrist warmers. I am dreaming of summer and NOT rushing winter again, but one never knows when warm temperatures will be here to stay. Since we had two days of snow ON THE GROUND this week... one has to be prepared!

Looking forward to the last 6 weeks of school and then...



who knows!

Easter Break and more felting!

We have been having fun around these parts. Heather and I save a bunch of money by having our very own "sit and knit!" Yarnia started charging for theirs, so we have our own! That way we can eat treats, sip the beverages of choice, and knit our little hearts out! ; )

The kids are getting big! Mason is walking! He holds his right arm up funny, and he is increasing his core strength every day!

Hannah is saying cute things, too, every day!!! This morning, she said, "It's okay, Buddy. Be patient, I am coming!" He was still in his bed and waiting for Miss Hannah to come play! And running errands today - - -she said, "Are you thinking what I am thinking?" Heather and I looked at each other as we passed WL. Then Hannah said, "I am thinking... there's the Winking Lizard!" Now how funny was that! All day she has been wearing her "high heels." She let me wear a pair, too. (I think!)

So, with the boys working, kids growing, and Heather and I knitting - - might as well show what is new...


These fun bags are in the wrong order - -but that is OK. I made this one on Saturday... felted Lopi Tote. It came out quite nicely. Supposed to be a stash buster, but I thought that I was running out of yarn. So, Heather suggested the color change - - thanks, Heather - - I think it looks smashing! Way cute!

This one was finished up on Friday night - -I think I started this one on Monday. The problem with this bag was in the pattern. The instructions said to make the handle, then the other one, leaving all the stitches live. Then cable cast on and space the handles. I did as specified.

But, when the bag was done, and the bottom was being added, the handles did not do the french market thing! They did the tote thing! WRONG WAY! So, since it is just yarn, I did "surgery" and separated the red from the blue/red mix, and turned the handles and reattached them! And voila! Whoo hoooo! This bag will be the permanent chemo cap knitting bag since all the needles, yarn, and other tools fit perfectly!

This one was finished quite a while ago - - made for a special little one, Abby! It was for her first birthday - - and since the purples are the way to go... here it is! Once again, I did not make the flowers!

The first thing Hannah said when she opened it was, "I like your purse!" She will get hers on Sunday Morning, just in time for church!

Hope she says that again!

More Felted Stuff!

I found a pattern for a French market basket on line, free... without infringing on any rights... and here it is! It has a square bottom so it holds lots of yarn and another project as you can see!

Then, I decided that Hannah Girl needs a new bag to carry her lip gloss and hair things. So, I made this for her on Saturday. She asked me, "Mammie, why are you using that color?" And I told her that I was tired of blue! She said, "Pink is my favorite color!"

She has not seen it, so please don't tell. It will be an Easter gift!

The glasses are there to show the perspective - it is little - and way too cute! This pattern is from THE TWO OLD BAGS and it is from the mother and daughter bags pattern booklet... the pattern comes with a small (this one), a medium, and a large bag pattern. If it is this cute... I may do up the other two sizes!

It is always fun to learn new stuff... this bag has a built in, reinforced base. You knit two bases, and then lay them on top of each other, and knit them together as one. Good thinking! That way the bottom looks a bit fuller and will keep its shape better!

The flowers were purchased at Pat Catan's Craft Center... credit where it is due. I hot glued them on since they were too thick to get a needle through. But, cute none-the-less,

right?

Lucy Bag with Fibonacci Striping

I made my second Lucy Bag. This one has God's number pattern in it! Now isn't this one visually pleasing? I really like the striping in the back!
